  • Laundry Attendant

    Reports directly to the Manager and will be responsible for assisting with all daily operational activity in a physically demanding and fast paced environment. This position is not suitable for persons with allergies to dust or cleaning products and materials. Preference may be afforded to candidates who have some previous and relevant experience.

    Qualifications

    • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

    Job Description

    Scheduled working hours:

                    Monday, Wednesday, Friday & every other weekend Saturday & Sunday

    • Use of POS system to accurately process customer orders and payment transactions
    • Providing advice and assistance to customers and addressing enquiries
    • Placing and removing laundry into and from washing machines and dryers
    • Operating washing machines and dryers
    • Able to organize, sort, fold and package items for customer collection
    • Maintain appearance of machinery by regular cleaning
    • Empty and clean waste and garbage containers
    • Maintain cleanliness of all surface areas including floors, walls, windows and tables
    • Undertake scheduled and ad hoc tasks as provided by supervisor or Manager
    • Complete tasks thoroughly without being supervised
    • Bondable can acquire Criminal Background Check and any necessary certificates;

  • Cleaner and Maintenance Assistant

    Job Description

    • Follow cleaning and laundry schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.,) as outlined
    • Clean assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established house routine
    • Clean floors with dry mops, wet mops, sweeps, waxes, buffs, disinfects where necessary
    • Perform emergency clean up when accidents occur.
    • Clean movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures: Dusts, spot cleans or wet clean
      This includes the cleaning of ledges, shelves, vents, etc.
    • Straighten or rearrange furniture as directed.
    • Clean bathrooms and disinfects all fixtures, floors, and walls.
    • Wash windows and mirrors.
    • Replenish bathroom supplies.
    • Clean walls, windows, doors, and ceilings:

    • Working an average of 20 hours per week – $11.50 to $13.00 per hour dependent upon previous experience.

  • Assistant Manager

    Washday Laundry Centre – Whitby

    Reports directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for all daily operational activities within a dynamic and fast paced environment. The Assistant Manager will also be a key holder and therefore responsible for store opening and closing procedures. In addition the Assistant Manager will provide administrative support to compile, maintain and file all business related records and documentation.
     
    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated ability to multi task in a high volume and fast paced environment.
    • Flexible, willing and able to work variable hours and shift patterns.
    • Proficient organizational and prioritization skills to ensure tasks and functions are completed within specified timescales.
    • Excellent communication skills to deal with all enquiries with an emphasis on quality customer service.
    • Ability to produce schedules, administer payroll procedures, coach and supervise all activities undertaken by other staff members (four at this time).
    • Competent mathematical ability to process payment transactions as well as any associated banking and reconciliation procedures.
    • Conflict management ability to address and resolve disputes and complaints.
    • Computer literate and ability to use various software programs including some familiarity with CCTV system.
    • Must be physically able to repeatedly maneuver and assemble heavy loads in excess of 50 pounds in weight and must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
    • Ensuring that the facility cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently and continuously maintained at all times.

     
     
    Requirements

    • Applicants will be required to undertake and provide a criminal record check.
    • Permanent appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of a six month probation and assessment period.
    • Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate previous relative experience and provide references to validate the specified requisite qualifications.

    Job descriptive detail

    • Must be able to operate point of sale systems (POS) while monitoring and overseeing use of the system by other staff.
    • Must be familiar and conversant with operation of washing machines, dryers and vending machines to ensure business continuity.
    • Will be responsible and accountable for the accuracy of all business transactions, as well as daily and monthly reconciliation processes, compiling reports, payment of invoices and amounts owed.
    • Must be engaging and supportive to encourage staff to optimize performance and potential for developmental improvement.
    • Will produce advance weekly schedules thereby ensuring adequate staff coverage for operational hours and commitments.
    • Contribute to and monitor all wash and fold activities ensuring that they are completed in an organized and timely fashion.
    • Daily wash and fold activities will require large and heavy quantities of clothing, linen and bedding to be moved, washed, dried and neatly folded in an organized and repetitive manner. It is incumbent upon the post holder to maintain the physical capability to continue to do so.
    • Ensuring that intake of customer orders and requests are accurately maintained through POS system.
    • Preserve documentary audit trail to compliment the precise processing of customer orders and service requests.
    • Thoroughly survey incoming items and garments for dry cleaning to identify existing stains and damage prior to acceptance through POS system.
    • Ensure that information relative to customer pick-ups and deliveries are accurately maintained and recorded.
    • Directly address and satisfactorily resolve customer complaints, disputes, conflict and feedback.
    • Must be able to utilize software applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Quick books and Adobe among others.
    • Will be required to undertake and process information relative to staff duties and payroll.
    • Must be willing and able to multi task and complete activities simultaneously while maintaining composure and professionalism.
    • Ensure that product and change vending machines are in working order and have ample provisions.
    • Must be able to maintain accurate inventory records and documentation identifying supplies at hand.
    • Will be required to identify and process requests for new supplies and provisions in a timely manner.
    • Engage and supervise all activities to ensure that the cleanliness of the premises is maintained to consistently high standards.
    • Must be willing to undertake the role of primary responder in the event of an emergency or other requirement for key holder attendance at the facility.
    • Will be responsible for all matters relative to the retention and recruitment of other staff.
    • Manage and implement marketing and promotional projects and activities.
